Our fight is not against flesh <strong>and</strong> blood. Our<br />

warfare is a spiritual one.<br />

SPIRITUAL WARFARE<br />

For most people, spiritual warfare conjures up the<br />

idea of engaging in fierce battles with the devil. But<br />

some years ago, when I wrote a book titled Spiritual<br />

Warfare, do you know what I chose as the image for<br />

the cover of the book?<br />

It’s important <strong>to</strong> note that the whole passage<br />

about spiritual warfare in Ephesians 6 tells us over<br />

<strong>and</strong> over again <strong>to</strong> “st<strong>and</strong>” <strong>and</strong> mentions fighting only<br />

once, when it tells us that we do not “wrestle against<br />

flesh <strong>and</strong> blood” (Eph. 6:11–14).<br />

Our fight is the fight <strong>to</strong> remain at rest <strong>and</strong> believe<br />

the work has already been finished. The only labor is<br />

the labor <strong>to</strong> enter the rest our Lord Jesus purchased<br />

for us at the cross. Our part is <strong>to</strong> st<strong>and</strong> still <strong>and</strong> see<br />

the salvation of the Lord. Let’s st<strong>and</strong> in the vic<strong>to</strong>ry<br />

Christ has already given us, instead of trying <strong>to</strong>
