SSN: “Queremos Promover la Cultura Aseguradora en Todas las
Escuelas del País”
El Superintendente de Seguros de la Nación, Lic. Juan Bontempo,
SSN: “We Want to Promote an Insurance Culture in All Schools in
the Country”
SSN’s head, Juan Bontempo, emphasized the launching of the
pilot phase of the educational program “Insurance goes to
school”. The implementation of participatory workshops at
different schools started in early August, with the aim of
evaluating the entertainment tools designed for primary and
middle school levels.
The explained that this program is part of one of the pillars of
the National Strategic Plan for Insurance 2012-2020 (PlaNeS)
called “Insuring Culture” that seeks to increase insurance
awareness among citizens.
In the first surveys carried out among teachers of the schools
where the workshops were conducted, they expressed their
satisfaction and said they would recommend the workshop
because: “they cover a topic unknown to students”, “provide
information about the rights of insurance consumers and users”,
and “help to start becoming aware of the risks”, among other
advantages. They were also satisfied about the teaching aids and
methodology applied because they “kept the children’s
attention”, “the games were very pedagogical”, “children loved
the Zamba video”, and “the game called We Propose attracted
them and encouraged group discussion”.
The Insurance Brokers volunteers who conducted the workshops
were also very pleased and enthusiastic about the next stage.
Renata Witt, a Insurance Brokers trainer, pointed out: “I believe the
students discovered new concepts, and could identify some
actions and situations of their own lives where they can take actions
to prevent bad things from happening to them”. Lacquaniti,
another Insurance Brokers trainer, said “this program represents
an opportunity to create insuring awareness and it should be
maintained and given the widest possible dissemination”.
