Elles s’imposent sans complexe sur une scène musicale particulièrement novatrice. par Sophie Rosemont Lorsqu’on parle de musique sénégalaise, on évoque souvent uniquement le rap, qui, depuis son arrivée dans les années 1980, n’a cessé de se réinventer. D’autant qu’il peut aussi bien convoquer l’esprit des griots que le mbalakh (melting-pot des sonorités traditionnelles nationales, de mélopées afro-cubaines, du funk et du rock, roi des dancefloors). Du français au wolof en passant par l’anglais, tout est possible dans un rap encore organique, où peuvent résonner des instruments traditionnels comme la kora. Productrice et fondatrice de l’association Kaani, à Dakar, Camille Seck partage son activité entre événementiel, management et mise en place de projets artistiques. « Après les États-Unis et la France, le Sénégal est la troisième patrie mondiale du rap, observe-t-elle.
