Questo dimostra quanto ci sia ancora da fare per valorizzare
meglio le attrattive di una regione così ricca di bellezza. Le
“terre” liguri che meritano attenzione sono molte di più di tre o
cinque. Sono moltissime. Basti pensare ai borghi e ai parchi
dell’entroterra, raggiungibile dai più noti porti turistici (ne
parliamo in questo numero). Blue ci crede e da due anni si è
impegnata per questo obiettivo.
Serve però una svolta nella politica per il turismo. Da un lato
c’è un taglio drastico delle risorse pubbliche. Dall’altro le
opportunità da cogliere. Un solo esempio: Federalberghi ha
rilevato che Genova è oggi la terza città italiana per presenze
alberghiere, e questo mentre crollano quelle legate al
business.
Le scelte da fare sono chiare. Va radicalmente semplificata
l’organizzazione del turismo. Basta con le sovrapposizioni tra
comuni, province, sistema turistici locali (Stl) e altro ancora.
Serve un ente unico per ogni provincia, con la presenza degli
operatori, sotto il coordinamento della Regione.
I privati nelle Camere di Commercio devono garantire risorse e
competenze. Agli enti locali un solo grande imperativo: tutelare
l’ambiente. Se le Cinque Terre, e ora speriamo le Tre Terre,
attirano visitatori da tutto il mondo è perché sono al riparo dal
cemento. Ma questo deve valere per tutte le terre liguri.

This summer has seen the start of a new important initiative
for tourism in Liguria: 100 VIPs are supporting an
association called “Tre Terre”, Three Lands, and namely Noli,
the Plateau delle Manie, and Varigotti, in western Liguria. The idea
is to emulate the international success of the Park of the Cinque
Terre. Two women are at the head: Ombretta Fumagalli Carulli and
Evelina Cristillin. And among the project’s supporters are Antonio
Ricci, Gabriele Galateri, Ferruccio De Bortoli, and Michelle Hunziker.
There is still much to do to enhance the valuable attractions of this
region that is so rich in beauty. The lands of Liguria that are worthy
of attention number more than five [cinque] or three. There
are so many more, like the villages and parks of the hinterland,
which can be reached from the most noted tourist ports (we will
tell more about them in this issue). BLUE believes in them, and has
been working towards this goal for two years now.
But policies related to tourism must change. On the one hand there
has been a drastic cut in public resources. On the other there are
opportunities to be taken up. Just one example: the hotel federation,
Federalberghi, has conducted a survey which shows that
Genoa is today the third Italian city in number of hotels, and this
while the business hotel business is collapsing.
Choices are clear. The organization of tourism must be radically
simplified. There is too much overlap between municipality,
province, Local Tourism Systems (Stl) and others. We need one entity
for each province, with operators involved, coordinated by the
Regione. Private companies in the Chamber of Commerce must
guarantee resources and competence. Local entities must take care
of one great task: the preservation of the environment. If the
Cinque Terre, and now the Tre Terre, attract visitors from all over the
world, it is because they have been protected from the growth of
cement. But this must hold true for all Ligurian lands.
