di ponente, l’entroterra ligure dell’estremo
levante ha l’aspetto di una
terra incontaminata, dove il bosco solo a tratti è
interrotto dalla presenza di piccoli borghi sulle
alture. L’autenticità resta anche negli altri aspetti
di questa zona dove i sapori parlano già della
vicina Toscana, con la quale condivide storia e
cultura, sin dai tempi di Roma; qui, dove il Vara
si unisce al Magra per sfociare in un Mar Ligure
che sa già di Tirreno, i marmi bianchi delle Alpi
Apuane fanno da sfondo a paesini sospesi fra
l’aria di montagna e lo iodio marino.
Less well-known and visited than the lands to the
west, the Ligurian hinterlands on the Tuscan
border have the air of an uncontaminated land.
Here the woods are only occasionally interrupted by
the presence of small villages on the peaks of the
hills. The authenticity of the region also lingers in
other aspects of the zone, where the flavors begin to
speak of nearby Tuscany, with which it shares a
history and a culture since Roman times. Here the
Vara River meets the Magra, and then flows out to
Ligurian Sea which already feels like the Tyrrhenian.
The white marble of the Apuan Alps form the
backdrop to tiny villages suspended between the
mountain air and the sea salts.
