Café Galeria - Instituto Moreira Salles
Vá ao Café Galeria sem pressa. Acomode-se ao ar livre, ao lado do
painel de azulejos assinado por Burle Marx, de frente para a exuberante
mata nativa. Do jardim, perfeito para o café da manhã ou um
almoço sem atropelo, também se vê a Pedra da Gávea. O cardápio,
com bolos caseiros, ovos caipiras e opções diárias de pratos, é cuidadoso
e bem elaborado. Ao lado do café, a loja do Instituto Moreira
Salles vende belíssimos livros de arte. Além das exposições, a famosa
casa modernista do arquiteto Olavo Redig de Campos, construída nos
anos 1940, vale o passeio.
If you have time to spare, visit Café Galeria and sit at the outdoor
tables overlooking the luxuriant greenery alongside the tile panel
designed by Burle Marx. The garden, a perfect place for an unhurried
breakfast or lunch, also looks out onto the Gávea mountain. The
carefully planned, well-prepared menu offers homemade cakes,
dishes made with free-range eggs and dishes of the day.The Instituto
Moreira Salles shop next to the café sells beautiful art books. Besides
visiting the exhibitions held there, it's also worth making a tour of the
house itself, designed by the famous modernist architect Olavo Redig
de Campos and built in the 1940s.
