Botequim tradicional, <strong>de</strong> culinária ibérica, o Cosmopolita viu surgir<br />
em suas mesas muitas conspirações políticas. Tanto que, nas décadas<br />
<strong>de</strong> 1930 e 1950, era conhecido como “Senadinho”. Foi um <strong>de</strong>sses<br />
confabuladores políticos quem transformou a casa numa referência<br />
ao inspirar a estrela do cardápio: o filé à Oswaldo Aranha. Muito<br />
apreciado, trata-se <strong>de</strong> filé-mignon alto com muito alho, servido com<br />
arroz branco, farofa e batatas portuguesas.<br />
At one stage, so many political conspiracies were being hatched<br />
round the tables of Cosmopolita, a traditional Iberian restaurant, that<br />
from 1930 to 1950 it was nicknamed “Senadinho”, the little Senate.<br />
It was actually one of the politicians involved who gave the place a<br />
name by inspiring the star attraction on its menu, the popular filé<br />
à Oswaldo Aranha, a thick fillet steak cooked with plenty of garlic<br />
and served with white rice, farofa, or manioc meal, and batatas<br />
portuguesas, potato fries.<br />
