With its tiled walls <strong>de</strong>corated with handcrafted ornaments,<br />

photographs and newspaper cuttings, Bar do Mineiro is one of Santa<br />

Teresa's most traditional, busiest eateries. It is frequented by both<br />

locals and tourists, who can enjoy a drink outsi<strong>de</strong> at peak times, if<br />

they have to wait for a table. The speciality is feijoada do Mineiro,<br />

Minas-style black bean stew. The menu also inclu<strong>de</strong>s other typical<br />

Minas dishes, such as chicken with okra and beans mixed with manioc<br />

meal. Be sure to try the miniature fried turnovers stuffed with beans<br />

and kale and the Minas sausage and onions.<br />

Bar do Mineiro<br />

O Bar do Mineiro, e suas pare<strong>de</strong>s ladrilhadas, <strong>de</strong>coradas com peças<br />

<strong>de</strong> artesanato, fotografias e reportagens, é um dos locais mais tradicionais<br />

e movimentados <strong>de</strong> Santa Teresa. É frequentado por cariocas<br />

e turistas que, no horário <strong>de</strong> pico, bebem na calçada enquanto aguardam<br />

mesa. O carro-chefe da casa é a Feijoada do Mineiro. Pratos<br />

típicos da culinária mineira, como frango com quiabo e tutu à mineira,<br />

completam o cardápio. Não <strong>de</strong>ixe <strong>de</strong> experimentar os pasteizinhos <strong>de</strong><br />

feijão e couve e a linguiça mineira acebolada.<br />
