Inhalt Eine Aufgabenstellung wird mit Methoden <strong>der</strong> symbolischen Künstlichen Intelligenz<br />
bearbeitet.<br />
Angeboten werden Themen u.a. aus den Bereichen strategische Spiele, Constraint<br />
Satisfaction, Planung, maschinelles Beweisen.<br />
Bemerkung Bestandteil des Moduls BINF-SWT-KI/PJ.xx. Zum Modul gehört ein Seminar (3LP /<br />
2SWS), das innerhalb <strong>der</strong> Projektlehrveranstaltung organisiert wird.<br />
Voraussetzung Inhaltlich vorausgesetzt werden Kenntnisse <strong>der</strong> Grundlagenveranstaltung "Künstliche<br />

Inhalt This seminar discusses Monte Carlo techniques for statistical inference inprobabilistic<br />
and Bayesian models. Based on textbooks or journal publicationsstudents should prepare<br />
a presentation of the theory as well as anapplication of the methods to simple problems.<br />
Nachweis Prüfungsäquivalente Studienleistungen:<br />
70% Inhalt des Vortrags (Theorie und Resultate <strong>der</strong> Projekte)<br />
30% Darstellung (Vortragsgestaltung)<br />
Voraussetzung Vorausgesetzt werden Grundkenntnisse in Mathematik (Lineare Algebra, Analysis,<br />
Stochastik)<br />
sowie Programmierkenntnisse. Diese werden z. B. in den Vorlesungen Lineare Algebra<br />
für Ingenieure,<br />
Analysis I + II für Ingenieure und Stochastik für Informatiker <strong>der</strong> Bachelor-Studiengänge<br />

Inhalt Monte Carlo simulation plays an prominent role in statistics, machine learning and<br />
statistical physics. This lecture will give an overview of classical and more recent methods<br />
and their applications. Topics will include rejection and importance sampling, sequential<br />
Monte Carlo methods (particle filters) and Markov chain Monte Carlo techniques such<br />
as the Gibbs sampler, the Metropolis Hastings method, exact sampling and Hamiltonian<br />
Monte Carlo.<br />
