Zeichen der »zweiten Seite der Wirklichkeit« – dem fiktionalen Spiel zuwenden wird, soll im
Wesentlichen von denselben Studierenden absolviert werden, wobei selbstverständlich mit
einigen Ab- und Neuzugängen zu rechnen sein wird.
Neben diesem Workshop beinhaltete mein Lehrprogramm im Wintersemester 2008/09 und
im Sommersemester 2009 folgende Veranstaltungen: »Die zwei Seiten der Wirklichkeit III«
und »Reflexe des Realen«. Zusammen mit Siegfried Mauser fanden außerdem im genannten
Zeitraum zwei weitere Seminare statt, die sich unter musikästhetischen Gesichtspunkten mit
Filmen von Ingmar Bergmann befassten: »Mozart/Bergman: Die Zauberflöte. Eine Inszenierung
als Film« und »Bergmans Zeit«.
Hardly one month after filming in Romania, the Bucharest students came to Karlsruhe, where
all participants worked on the rough cut (also to be completed within a week). This was followed
by individual student work, which refined the projects little by little so that the final
cuts were ready for the post-production phase during the summer break and the DVD and
16mm-versions could be presented at the beginning of the fall semester. The films were
shown at the HfG as part of the “Results” [Ergebnisse] event in October, hosted by the Department
of Media Art/Film, which is to become a regular annual institution at the commencement
of the fall semester.
The productive cooperation between HfG and UNATC led to a continuation of the joint project
in the spring semester of 2010. This second part of the practical exercise will be dedicated to
the “second side of reality,” and thus focus on fictional play. The same students are to participate,
although some changes can be expected due to natural student turnover.
Besides this workshop, I taught the following classes in the fall semester 2008/09 and the
spring semester 2009: “The Two Sides of Reality III” and “Reflexes of Reality.” Together with
Siegfried Mauser, I held two more seminars that analyzed Ingmar Bergman’s films from the
points of view of musical aesthetics: “Mozart/Bergman: The Magic Flute. A Production as
Film” [Mozart/Bergman: Die Zauberflöte. Eine Inszenierung als Film] and “Bergman’s Time”
[Bergmans Zeit].
