Das Labor für Sound ist innerhalb des Fachbereichs Medienkunst angesiedelt. Es wird durch
die Vielfältigkeit der unterschiedlichen Ansätze der dort entwickelten Projekte gespeist, die
sich in die Bereiche elektronische und elektroakustische Musik, experimentelles Hörspiel,
Installation sowie Sonifikation aufteilen lassen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf den akustischen
Spielformen zwischen Kunst und Medien.
The Lab for Sound is part of the Department of Media Art. It benefits from the variety of differ-
ent approaches of the projects developed at the Media Art department that belong to the are-
as of electronic and electro-acoustic music, experimental radio plays, and installation as well
as sonification. The focus is on the acoustic variations in the interface between art and media.
HfG-Label »ichiigai«
Für die Aktivitäten außerhalb der Hochschule wurde im Jahr 2004 das Label »ichiigai« ge-
gründet. Es ist ein unabhängiges Label für akustische und visuelle Kunst, das von jungen
Künstlern im Umfeld der HfG und des ZKM betrieben wird. »ichiigai« fördert die Fusion von
Klang, Musik, Video und Kunst.
HfG-Label “ichiigai”
The label “ichiigai” was founded in 2004 for activities outside of the university. It is an independent
label for acoustic and visual art, run by young artists connected with the HfG and
the ZKM. “ichiigai” promotes the fusion of sound, music, video, and art.
Art’s Birthday 2009
Unter dem Titel »safe and sound« feierte SWR2 am 16. Januar 2009 den 1.000.046. Geburtstag
der Kunst, den von Fluxus-Künstler Robert Filliou begründeten »Art's Birthday«. Live-Konzert
und -Sendung wurden zusammen mit dem Label »ichiigai« in der HfG produziert und als
»EBU ars acustica special evening« der European Broadcast Union über die Satellitenkanäle
»Verdi« und »Ravel« weltweit ausgestrahlt.
Art’s Birthday 2009
“Safe and sound” was the title for the 1,000,046th Birthday of Art – originally begun by flux
artist Robert Filliou – celebrated on 16 January, 2009 by the German station SWR2. The live
concert and broadcast were produced together with the label “ichiigai” at the HfG and as a
“EBU ars acustica special evening” of the European Broadcast Union, transmitted worldwide
via the satellite channels “Verdi” and “Ravel.”
KAMUNA
Im Rahmen der KAMUNA (Karlsruher Museums Nacht) präsentierte »ichiigai« am 1. August
2009 einem breiten Publikum ausgewählte Sound-Performances im Großen Studio der HfG
unter dem Titel »Kabinenzwang«.
