Task 8 – Participate in an energy efficiency audit
MEM50205 Diploma of Engineering Technical (Mechanical)

For this task you are to negotiate with your place of work or with your Assessor to use a
simulation or case study to participate in an energy efficiency audit to identify and implement
improvements in sustainable energy practice. Steps include:
a) analysing the energy used
b) developing an energy conservation plan
c) developing an energy trading plan
d) investigating alternative sources of energy
e) developing and implementing a plan for more efficient energy use.
Task 9 – Devise a plan for the work role
Consult with your Assessor to develop a simulation in which a particular job role is identified
relevant to your engineering environment. Devise a plan for meeting the requirements of that
role. Include the following details in your plan.
1. your job role and how you will manage yourself in terms of time management and learning
opportunities
2. how you plan to work effectively with a team – refer to how you could:
� communicate with others
� respect diversity
� use your judgement and discretion
� follow procedures and guidelines, and trust others to do same
� mentor others
� work with others to introduce change
3. how you plan to manage information – refer to how you could:
� keep up with the latest information in your field
� document work procedures and processes
4. how you will prioritise your work – include preparation of work programs and budgets
5. how you plan to work collaboratively with customers and suppliers.
