• Sensitisation workshop – senior managers and directors of
the organisation attended. Realised the vulnerability of their
staff/organisation to HIV. Some organisation’s recognized that
long travel periods to the field and workshops increased risk
especially those of younger age range (20-30).
• However, because of no follow-up to the training, did not start
developing the policy because they were unsure about how to
proceed.
• When the sessions were reinitiated – participants fed back to
other staff at regular meetings or directly to management.
• Began with a KAB survey.
• Real-life stories - powerful motivation to begin work
• Focal person or committee developed draft and shared with
organisation for comments.
