Management Information Systems 3 credits<br />
Prerequisites: 101 and BUS 101, or permission. An<br />
introduction to the field of management information<br />
systems. Emphasis is placed on the role of computers and<br />
information in a modern organization. State-of-the-art<br />
business software is used to analyze managerial problems<br />
and develop solutions. A variety of information systems<br />

Applications Seminar 3 credits<br />
Prerequisites: 101 or equivalent and at least sophomore<br />
standing. An applied project seminar in business technology.<br />
It is expected that the project will address a particular<br />
business issue or e-commerce problem targeted toward the<br />
student’s major. Students will learn to use applications<br />
specific to their major in addition to discussing current issues<br />
and future trends in technology as well as strategies for<br />

Prerequisite: 201 or permission. An introduction to database<br />
management. Topics include data modeling, data structures,<br />
normalization, database design methodology, data security,<br />
