The scientific principles and procedures involved in the<br />

assessment of physical fitness and exercise prescription.<br />

Primary topics include: cardio-respiratory endurance,<br />

muscular fitness, body weight and composition, flexibility,<br />

Prerequisite: 120 or 139. A special topic addressing a current<br />

interest or subject in sport management or health and<br />

Methods of and problems in organizing and administering a<br />

physical education and health program. Criteria for designing<br />

curricula for all levels of instruction considering<br />

environmental and social forces that affect, challenge, and<br />

Tests and Measurements in<br />

Physical Education 3 credits<br />

Designed for the health and physical education major with<br />

emphasis on techniques of test administration and<br />

application to results of physical performance activity<br />

programs. Content of course includes: statistical methods in<br />

measures of central tendency, measures of variability, z<br />

scores, correlation coefficient, t-tests, and chi square. (2FO)<br />

Principles and practices of prescribing exercise to healthy<br />

individuals, and individuals with life-style and congenital<br />

conditions such as cardiac problems, asthma, diabetes,<br />

pregnancy, and physical disabilities. Included in the topics will<br />

be proper avenues of using screening tests and fitness<br />

parameters to design proper fitness activities to all<br />

general education theme and readings. Attendance at<br />

convocations required. These skills are demonstrated in both<br />

process. Study includes budgeting and cash management,<br />

credit and debt management, tax management, major<br />

Managerial Finance 3 credits<br />

Prerequisite: ACC 2<strong>11</strong>. Focuses on the financial functioning of<br />

business enterprises. Topics covered include organizational<br />

forms, the financial marketplace, the international financial<br />

marketplace, ratio analysis, time value of money, the<br />

risk/return tradeoff, fixed-income securities, common stock<br />

securities, and capital budgeting. Financial calculators and<br />

Prerequisite: 310. Focuses on the financial functioning of<br />

business enterprises. Topics covered include the cost of<br />

and corporate restructuring. Financial calculators and cases<br />

Money and Banking 3 credits<br />

Prerequisite or corequisite: 310 or ECN 201 or permission.<br />

Introduces the financial market environment, the Federal<br />

Reserve System and monetary policy, and the major security<br />

markets. Study includes the roles of financial markets and<br />

interest rates, the functions of the Federal Reserve System<br />

and its monetary theory and policy, money markets, bond<br />

markets, mortgage markets, and stock markets. Cross-listed<br />

Principles of Real Estate 3 credits<br />

Prerequisite or corequisite: 310. Covers the mastering of<br />

basic real estate principles and the transfer of real estate.<br />

Teaches practical knowledge related to the purchasing and<br />

leasing of residential, commercial and investment property.<br />
