carefully selected, then ground and polished on all edges with

These fine slides are made of non-corrosive glass with beveled
corners and polished edges. They are 3 x 1" (76 x 25 mm), and
1.0 ~ 1.2 mm thick. Polished spherical concavities are 16 mm in
diameter, and .8 mm in depth.

Round Cover Slips
Use of round cover slips results in neater, more perfect slide
mounts as the mounting medium need not flow to square cover
glass corners. They are frequently used with mounting rings or

Vinyl Props
When preparing wholemounts, vinyl props are plastic discs that
hold a cover slip above the specimen to prevent crushing. Three
props are normally used per slide. They are 3mm in diameter,
listed in three thicknesses. Packed in bags of 500.

Teflon Coated Microscope Slides
Trained personnel from public health agencies, mosquito abatement
districts and pest control operators using ULV (ultra low
volume) pesticide applications for adult mosquito control must
keep records of droplet size determination and make them available
to the EPA and the chemical manufacturer.
BioQuip’s special Teflon-coated glass microscope slides are
recommended for depositing spray samples to determine ULV
droplet size. They are 3 x 1" (76 x 25 mm), available in boxes of
5 or 25 slides.

Aerosol Droplet Sampler
The aerosol droplet sampler is designed
to collect insecticide aerosol
droplets on Teflon-coated slides. It has
applications in both public health and
agriculture fields, and serves two valuable
functions. It is used in accurate
calibration of ULV equipment, allowing
greater uniformity in determining droplet size and eliminating the
need to hand-wave slides in the aerosol cloud. It also allows
determination of extent of drift or penetration through vegetation
of the aerosol cloud without need for caged insects.
The slide rotator is a battery-operated device employing a U.S.manufactured
gear motor that spins a dual aluminum slide holder.
It can be mounted using the 1/2" aluminum tube on one side, or
it can be placed on a level surface. With slide holder in place, the
rotator is 7-3/4" high; weight is 1 lb., 2 oz. Two 9 V. alkaline
batteries and instructions are supplied.
