Net and Cage Fabrics
For customers who prefer to design and build their own netting
devices and cages, BioQuip offers a variety of materials. They
are supplied in a continuous roll or piece up to 33 yards and may
contain splices. Swatches are available on request by sending
a self-addressed, stamped #10 envelope.
White Polyester Netting
Material used in BioQuip’s aerial net bags. Soft tricot interlocking
knit Polyester netting has greater breaking strength than Nylon,
and better resistance to ultraviolet degrading which affects nondyed
Nylon. Mesh is approximately 24 x 20/inch; width is 42"
(107 cm). Minimum purchase, 5 yards.
7250A White Polyester netting per yard 3.10
Green Polyester Netting
Dark green polyester netting. Excellent for insect nets and
small cages. Specifications are the same as for white netting
(7250A) described above. Material is 42" ( 107 cm) wide; minimum
purchase, 5 yards.
7250B Green Polyester netting per yard 3.45
Unbleached Muslin
Sturdy, close weave muslin for sweeping bags, banding, beating
sheets, or other collecting devices. Width is approximately
48" (122 cm). Minimum purchase, 5 yards.
7250E Unbleached muslin per yard 3.70
Dacron Chiffon
Closely woven, soft netting, for nets and cages used in collecting
or rearing very small or fragile insects. Surprisingly strong
for such finely threaded netting. Mesh is approximately 70/inch,
width is 44 - 45" (~113 cm). Minimum purchase, 3 yards.
7250C Off-white Dacron chiffon per yard 7.05
7250CB Black Dacron chiffon
Amber Lumite77777 Screen
per yard 7.15
For agricultural and horticultural applications. Used in BioQuip
outdoor cages because of its excellent resistance to ultraviolet
rays over extended periods of time, and because mesh
weave is quite exact. A 1% allowance should be made for
shrinkage after outdoor exposure for several weeks, after
which time dimensions stabilize permanently. Width is 72"
(183 cm). Minimum purchase, 2 yards.
Nitex7 screen is a Swiss precision-woven Nylon monofilament used for collecting plankton and
other small aquatic organisms, measuring particulate matter, and filtering procedures. This
white netting is lightweight and flexible, with good memory characteristics. May be autoclaved.
The four mesh sizes listed below meet requirements for many field and lab applications, including
nets, plankton samplers, traps and sieves. Nylon screening fabric is 40" (102 cm) wide,
sold by the yard.
Antivirus/No-Thrips Insect Screens
White antivirus insect screens prevent small insects and virus
vectors from entering greenhouses. They are designed to
maximize performance for two major objectives:
1. Maximum air circulation to enable optimal yields.
2. 100% blockage of Bemisia tabaci Whitefly, minimizing or
eliminating use of chemicals.
Years of lab and field testing have resulted in a unique screen
construction to meet these objectives.
Screens are made of high tensile-strength monofilaments. They
are UV resistant and stabilized, lightweight, and easy to install.
Special equipment maintains accuracy of hole size in a patented
construction process, and screen keeps its strength
and stability even if mechanically punctured. Screens are
easily cleaned with power sprayers by interior side flushing.
Two types of screens are available. Antivirus insect screens
exclude Whitefly, Aphids, Leafminers and up to 80% of Western
Flower Thrips. No-thrips insect screens exclude Thrips, and
are designed for applications where exclusion has a priority
over ventilation. Please allow three weeks for delivery.
Net & Cage Fabrics, Screens
Square weave pattern of plankton netting
provides straight-through flow path with relatively
high percentage of open surface area.
It is ideal for sifting and filtration applications
requiring a highly permeable media.
Simplicity of the pattern minimizes blinding
and facilitates cleaning.
