have seams folded outside
to protect contents, and are
made of 30 lb. glassine for
maximum protection and
humidity resistance.
Smooth-edge flaps are folded down and are ungummed. The
1131D envelope accepts a 3 x 5" file card for entering collecting
data, or for support in a file card system.

Round plastic specimen containers
are made of translucent polyethylene
with plain label on the top
surface. Lids are permanently attached
so that container tops and
bottoms cannot become lost or
mixed up. These lightweight, unbreakable
containers are air tight
and moisture-proof. Available in

Field Equipment & Supplies
Triangles folded from glassine sheets are ideal for storage of Lepidoptera and Odonata
specimens with large wings and small bodies. Rectangular sheets are opaque, 25 pound
weight, bleached glassine. Padded in lots of 100 sheets (not pre-folded). Available in four
sizes to accommodate virtually all sizes of collected specimens, or in 8 x 12" sheets for user
to cut to preferred sizes.
NOTE: Narrow strips placed over wings when mounting specimens on spreading
boards are easily cut to desired sizes from pads of glassine sheets listed below.

Proper use of Chlorocresol eliminates need for time consuming
field mounting and/or relaxing. Freshly collected specimens
packed with Chlorocresol are preserved in relaxed
condition, allowing for pinning at a more convenient
time or place. Field mounted specimens that would fill
two Schmitt-sized insect boxes can be packed in one
small container (1182AA described below). With insects
in a relaxed state, potential damage from rough
handling is minimized.
Packaged in double seal metal can with friction lid.
Complete instructions included with each shipment.
Not recommended for use in areas where specimens will be
subjected to extremely high temperatures.

Group of seven compact, nested containers requires minimum space for packing, storing, or
carrying into the field. Seamless, one-piece metal cans are gold lacquer color. Press-on lids have
white labels for easy identification of contents. Containers range in capacity from 1/4 oz. to 6 oz.;
sizes range from 5/16" high x 1-5/16" diameter to 1-1/8" high x 3-1/2" dia. Weight: 6 oz. per set.
