Outdoor Cages<br />
Lumite 7 screen portable field cages are recommended for confining<br />
or isolating any given insect population, plants or seeds<br />
inside a screen enclosure. Their many applications include boll<br />
weevil research, bee culture study, Lepidoptera rearing, and<br />
insect pollination control. They are also used as emergence<br />
cages for beetles and other bark borers, to capture ground hibernating<br />
insects, and for mosquito breeding studies.<br />
Listed in two sizes and six feet high, these outdoor cages are<br />
fabricated of Lumite 7 screen in three mesh sizes: 18 x 14, 20 x<br />
20, and aphid-resistant 32 x 32. This high-quality material maintains<br />
a uniform spread of fibers and lasts for many years. Screening<br />
is amber color to allow good sun penetration. For convenient<br />
reference, actual mesh sizes<br />

All bottom edges are reinforced<br />
with polypropylene tape and are<br />
provided with heavy duty brass<br />
grommets every 12" enabling<br />
cages to be staked tightly to the<br />
ground. All top corners are reinforced<br />
with tape for extra strength.<br />
Poly monofilament<br />
thread is used so that<br />
seams will last as long as the fabric.<br />
Heavy-duty weather-resistant<br />
zippers may be opened from both<br />
ends and are attached with black<br />
Nylon cloth tape and Nylon fasteners<br />
to prevent damage from rotting<br />
or rust.<br />

Outdoor cages do not include support<br />
frames or lines. However, steel cage frames are available<br />
separately, described below.<br />

<strong>BioQuip</strong> has developed a sturdy, modular framing<br />
system to support outdoor Lumite7 1412S cage frame<br />
screen<br />
outdoor cages. Storage is clean and compact,<br />
and components can be interchanged to fit cages<br />
of varying six-foot modules.<br />
Frames are constructed of durable cadmiumcoated<br />
steel tubing to withstand extreme weather<br />
and wind conditions. Tube sections are six feet<br />
long, 15/16" outside diameter. Unique 3-way and<br />
4-way steel, welded corner socket units are the<br />
central feature of the frame design. Steel tubes<br />
are inserted into sockets as in an erector set,<br />
and the cage cover is draped over the frame.<br />
Frames may be purchased as complete sets, or<br />
corner units only may be purchased if the user<br />
wishes to purchase steel tubing locally.<br />

The 6' x 6' x 6' high (183 cm) cages have one 6' zipper in one end for<br />
