Pocket Net
BioQuip’s unique net
fits into a coat pocket or
briefcase and is ideal for inconspicuous
use. Spring steel net ring
folds to a 4" (10.2cm) diameter, and flicks out quickly to a 12"
(30.5cm) diameter polyester aerial net.
This collapsible net is refolded simply by twisting the top of the
net ring and the handle each 180° in opposite directions so that
sections of the ring fold into each other. It may be locked in
closed position by slipping one of the three loops of the net ring
over the "T" knob with the thumb. The 5-inch (12.7cm) anodized
aluminum handle may be extended by adding 7312 aluminum
extensions described below, or by inserting a 5/8" (1.6cm) wood
dowel of desired length.

Collapsible Nets
Versatile folding nets are larger versions of the famous
pocket net which BioQuip introduced in 1956. Collapsible
field nets in 15" or 18" diameter fold down to about
1/3 size of the ring diameter. They are stowed conveniently
in collecting bags, daypacks, luggage or (large) pockets.
Nets have an anodized aluminum handle, 5 inch (12.7cm)
long x 3/4" diameter, and spring steel net ring. Aerial
bags in white or dark green are standard. The 7215WA,
7215SA, 7218WA and 7218SA extra soft aerial bags
(see page 48) are also suitable extra bags for these nets.
Folding nets are collapsed in the same manner as the
7112CP pocket net shown on this page. The larger model
requires somewhat stronger hands and wrists for refolding.
Handle can be extended to any desired length with
12" and/or 24" extension segments described below.

Lightweight handle extensions short enough to be packed in
airline luggage were first described in BioQuip’s 1982-83 catalog.
They are sections of anodized aluminum tubing, 3/4" diameter,
which have been swaged (shrunk) at one end. Extensions
are inserted into the end of any BioQuip collapsible or pocket net
handle until desired handle length is reached.
Extension segments are available in 12" or 24" lengths. They
have spring loaded buttons which snap into the bottom of the net
handle or preceding segment to secure sections firmly in place
during use. A 4-1/2" red vinyl handle grip placed on the bottom
extension helps spot the net in the field, protects hands, and
keeps dirt and rocks out of the handle.
