11) know about decisions that touch upon his rights and get copies <strong>of</strong> procedural decisions on<br />

<strong>the</strong> civil claim brought by him;<br />

12) participate in court;<br />

13) speak in court;<br />

14) study <strong>the</strong> transcript <strong>of</strong> court proceedings and comment on it;<br />

15) make petitions against actions <strong>of</strong> preliminary investigator, actions and decisions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

investigator, prosecutor, and <strong>the</strong> court;<br />

16) appeal from <strong>the</strong> decisions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> court regarding <strong>the</strong> civil claim brought by him;<br />

17) know about appeals and petitions lodged on <strong>the</strong> case and object <strong>the</strong>m;<br />

18) participate in court proceedings on consideration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> lodged appeals and petitions, ask<br />

<strong>the</strong> agency <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> preliminary investigation, investigator, and <strong>the</strong> court to take measures<br />

necessary for consideration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> civil claim brought in by him;<br />

19) take <strong>of</strong>f <strong>the</strong> civil claim at any time during <strong>the</strong> proceedings on <strong>the</strong> case;<br />

(2) The civil plaintiff shall:<br />

1) appear if summoned by <strong>the</strong> investigator or <strong>the</strong> court;<br />

2) make copies <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> notice <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> civil claim for each civil defendant;<br />

3) provide objects, documents and samples he has for <strong>the</strong> comparative analysis if such<br />

requested by an agency responsible for <strong>the</strong> proceedings on <strong>the</strong> case;<br />

4) obey orders <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> investigator, <strong>the</strong> prosecutor, <strong>the</strong> court;<br />

(3) Civil plaintiff may be summoned as a witness.<br />

(4) Civil plaintiff has o<strong>the</strong>r rights and responsibilities provided herein.<br />

(5) Civil plaintiff may personally or through his representative realize his rights and fulfill his<br />

responsibilities. As provided herein, rights <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> underaged or incapable civil plaintiff shall<br />

be realized on his behalf by his legal representative.<br />

Article 54. Representatives <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Victim, Civil Plaintiff<br />

(1) Advocates, close relatives or o<strong>the</strong>r persons authorized by law may represent legal interests <strong>of</strong><br />

a victim, civil plaintiff in criminal proceedings .<br />

(2) Legal representatives shall be invited to stand for <strong>the</strong> rights and legal interests <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> victim,<br />

civil plaintiff, if <strong>the</strong> latter is underaged or recognized incapable due to his physical or psychic<br />

state to stand for his rights and legal interests himself.<br />

(3) Legal representatives and representatives <strong>of</strong> a victim, civil plaintiff have <strong>the</strong> same procedural<br />

rights and responsibilities as a victim or civil plaintiff <strong>the</strong>mselves.<br />

(4) Personal participation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> victim, civil plaintiff in <strong>the</strong> proceedings on <strong>the</strong> case shall not<br />

preclude <strong>the</strong>ir right for legal representatives.<br />

Article 55. Civil Defendant<br />

Civil defendant is a person or legal entity that is responsible by law for damages caused by <strong>the</strong><br />

crime or for illegal actions <strong>of</strong> an irresponsible person. A person may be recognized a civil<br />

defendant by a resolution <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> investigator and judge.<br />

Article 56. Rights and Responsibilities <strong>of</strong> Civil Defendant<br />

(1) Civil defendant has <strong>the</strong> right to:
