Creating a new group<br />

layer<br />

1. Select the folder in which you<br />

want to place the new group<br />

layer in the Catalog tree.<br />

2. Click the File menu, point to<br />

New, then click Group Layer.<br />

3. Type a name for the new<br />

group layer.<br />

4. Press Enter.<br />

Adding layers to a new<br />

group layer<br />

1. Right-click a group layer,<br />

click Properties, then click<br />

the Group tab.<br />

2. Click Add.<br />

3. Navigate to and click the<br />

geographic data source or<br />

layer that you want to add to<br />

the group. Click Open.<br />

4. Repeat step 3 until all layers<br />

have been added.<br />

5. Layers are drawn in order<br />

from the bottom to the top of<br />

the list. Click a layer and then<br />

click the arrow buttons to<br />

reorder the list.<br />

6. Click a layer and click<br />

Properties to set the properties<br />

of individual layers.<br />
