Deleting an attribute<br />

1. Click the shapefile or dBASE<br />

table whose columns you<br />

want to delete.<br />

2. Click the File menu and click<br />

Properties.<br />

3. Click the Fields tab.<br />

4. Position the mouse pointer<br />

over the gray button to the<br />

left of the column you want to<br />

delete. The pointer’s icon<br />

changes to an arrow.<br />

5. Click the gray button to select<br />

the column.<br />

The column is selected and<br />

its properties appear in the<br />

Field Properties list below.<br />

6. Press the Delete key on the<br />

keyboard.<br />

The selected attribute is<br />

removed from the list of<br />

columns.<br />

7. Click OK.<br />
