20. Click the Color Ramp dropdown arrow and click a<br />

different color palette, if desired.<br />

21. Click Add All Values.<br />

To change the color of individual values, for example, to<br />

make the water polygons blue, double-click the patch of<br />

color to the left of the value. Set the fill and outline<br />

colors in the Symbol Selector dialog box and click OK.<br />

22. Click OK in the Layer Properties dialog box.<br />

The vegetation type layer represents the forest resources in<br />

the study area.<br />

Add the vegetation type layer to the map<br />

Now that the vegetation layer has been created, you can<br />

add it to the Yellowstone map.<br />

1. Double-click the Yellowstone map in the Catalog.<br />

2. Click and drag the vegetation type layer from the<br />

Catalog and drop it in the map’s table of contents below<br />

park roads and above hydrology in the Study Area data<br />

frame’s list of layers.<br />

3. Click the Save button in ArcMap.<br />

4. Click the File menu and click Exit to stop ArcMap.<br />

The Yellowstone map is now complete.<br />
