Start the engine in the usual manner. As soon as the engine starts, immediately
let the carburetor enriching button go as far forward as possible without
causing the engine to stop or slow down materially and then open the
throttle until the ammeter reads approximately 10 with all lights switched
off. While the engine is running lift the aluminum cap on top of the carburetor
and inject from two to three tablespoonfuls of engine oil into the
carburetor. It is a good plan to run the car outdoors as soon as this has been
done. Release the carburetor enriching button entirely as soon as the engine
is warm enough to permit it.

It is not tht object of this section of the Manual to give
complete directions for the repair and adjustment of Cadillac
cars. Most Cadillac owners prefer to depend for the
majority of such work on Cadillac Service Stations, where
proper equipment and skilled workmen are available.
The details given here includt general information regarding
the construction of the car and some of the simpler adjustments
and operations which do not require special equipment,
and which, in emergency, can be performed satisfactorily by
the average automobile mechanic.
