we do the sowing, where we expect to reap.<br />

But here some one says, "That law if it does hold good<br />

on all planes is not discernible in many cases." For<br />

example, we often see the young and innocent suffer<br />

and die young, before they have <strong>com</strong>e to the years of<br />

accountability, and the orthodox teachers will tell you<br />

that God's ways are past finding out. But the Christ<br />

said in speaking of his attainments, and of his knowledge<br />

of the workings of God's laws, "These things<br />

shall ye do and greater." If his words are true then we<br />

should know why these laws obtain. Why some apparently<br />

reap what they do not sow, while others sow what<br />

they do not reap, in the face of that decided declaration<br />

of Paul; for if we are to be<strong>com</strong>e as Gods, it will never<br />

be from blind faith only, but because we understand<br />

God's<br />

laws.<br />

But this question of reaping and sowing can never be<br />

decided by the orthodox views.<br />

The question, "Did this<br />

man sin or his parents that he was born blind?" implies<br />

that the questioners understood that the man had lived<br />

before, for how could a man sin before he was born, and<br />

the fact that the Christ answered the question as a<br />

rational one shows that he believed both in reincarnation<br />

and karma. And the answer shows that not the present<br />

man as he stood before them blind, but the man of a<br />

previous incarnation had sowed the seed of blindness on<br />

the earth, and on the earth must that seed be reaped, in<br />

order that the works of God might be made manifest,-<br />

that the cause and the effect both might be made manifest<br />

on the earth.<br />

One<br />

need never fear that there can be any mistake<br />

made on the spirit-side, for God's laws are immutable.<br />

There is no kind of business on the earth that one can
