OUR PRAYER<br />

Pnnm is the soul's<br />

enduring element,<br />

More tangible than things that do appear.<br />

It is the one desire by Heaven sent,<br />

Enlightening us to make our heaven here.<br />

Prayer is the thankfulness of ideal rest,<br />

The willing work of unified desire,<br />

Holding a hope forevermore expreet,<br />

A faith absorbing God's unqusnchable tire.<br />

Prayer is the spirit's ever-constant breath,<br />

Inspiring naught but the immortal light.<br />

Were shadows not in line of vision, death<br />

Had never barred the spirit's<br />

outward flight.<br />

Prayer is the monitor of mortal mind,<br />

Stilling the brain when Conscience steps alone.<br />

lf Desire impregnant ne'er had death divined,<br />

I will impregnable were on his throne.<br />

A prayer there is to sheath "The Flaming Sword,"<br />

Uncurve the line that must to Eden lead,<br />

That, as a magnet<br />

to the esoteric Word,<br />

Eternally transmutes Life's<br />

cosmic seed.<br />

Aye, God's soul, formative principal, were vain,<br />

If not illusion-chaos be redeemed,<br />

And God doth pray within ua, making plain<br />

That all <strong>com</strong>es true that wise ones ever dreamed.<br />

Nors-The author desires to offer his sincere <strong>com</strong>mendation and thanks for<br />

the message of Henry Proctor's, "Prayer Dynamos."<br />
