son," and since Jesus' mission was to teach the people<br />

how to be<strong>com</strong>e sons of God even as he, the Spirit continued,<br />

"Hear ye him."<br />

Because Jesus followed a certain method of life, the<br />

time came when the Spirit of God declared, "This is my<br />

beloved son in whom I am well pleased." Also the<br />

heavens were opened unto him, that is, he became conscious<br />

of the heavenly world, and also, the Holy Spirit<br />

descended upon and abode with him.<br />

Three things belong to and manifest the attainment of<br />

Divine Sonship. These are to be attained by all those<br />

who follow Jesus, thus be<strong>com</strong>ing sons of God. First,<br />

God's acknowledgment of his sonship; second, a consciousness<br />

of, and acquaintance and association with<br />

those in<br />

the angel world; and third, a consciousness of<br />

being overshadowed and guided by the Spirit of God.<br />

When these three things are attained by any one, that<br />

one is walking in the path of life. Now mark, the attainment<br />

of that condition called Divine Sonship, or sons<br />

of God, is the full preparation for walking the path of<br />

life, is the entering in thru the door, is the preparation<br />

for so living that tho the body dies, still the individual<br />

remains conscious in that higher realm, the angel world.<br />

And when enough persons attain this condition, by the<br />

power of their united effort, even the death of the body<br />

for them is no more. Jesus said of these, "Nether can<br />

they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels, and<br />

are children of God, being children of the resurrection."<br />

The Psalmist cried, "Behold how good and how pleasant<br />

it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! ....<br />

for there the LORD <strong>com</strong>manded the blessing, even life<br />

forevermore."<br />

that enabled the man Jesus to be<strong>com</strong>e a son of God,
