f*W*§ for something to rest upon; usually a<br />

if Q' building. But as used metaphysically<br />

*"¥"¥"¥'x thruout the <strong>Bible</strong> the "foundation" is<br />

that upon which rests man's hope of ultimate good. We<br />

might say, It is that upon which rests man's hope of salvation,<br />

but the term "salvation" does not seem to have a<br />

very definite meaning to the minds of men.<br />

If we realize that in creating man<br />

God has a clearly<br />

defined purpose concerning him, which is that man<br />

should grow like unto his Creator, then we may<br />

safely<br />

say that the fundamental means whereby man attains to<br />

that designed ultimate is the foundation upon which rests<br />

his hope of attaining it.<br />

We are informed that "The worlds were framed by<br />

the word of God." A word is a thought exprest. In<br />

Biblical terms, a sentence or statement is called a word.<br />

Therefore the statement, "The worlds were 'framed by<br />

the word of God," is equivalent to saying that the worlds<br />

are expressions of God's thoughts. In other words, God<br />

thought the worlds into existence.<br />

We read in Genesis, "And God said,<br />

.... and<br />

it was so." "And God said ,.... and it was so."<br />

This describes the fundamental steps of creation.<br />

This<br />

idea that God the Creator sent into the earth, time after<br />

time, and added<br />

word or impulse of his mind and will,
