so said: "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of
desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in
the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)."
(Matt. xxiv. 15.) And describing the days immediately
preceding the coming of the Son of Man, He said, "So
likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know
that it is near, even at the door. "Verily I say unto you,
This generation shall not pass, till all these things be
fulfilled." (Matt. xxiv. 33, 34.)
Without entering into an extended argument, the assertion
is here made that the
"abomination of desolation,"
spoken of by Daniel, and the "image of the
beast,"
