in an attitude to repel and thus prohibit the answer to<br />

our prayer.<br />

As we have said, these Holy Ones cannot<br />

violate the law of God, the universal Soul, without be<strong>com</strong>ing<br />

sinners, which is an impossibility. There are<br />

revelations that you all need, and that the Holy Ones<br />

would gladly give you, but they cannot do so, because, if<br />

in the plainest and simplest language they were to give<br />

you what you need, not only would you fail to understand<br />

but you would misconstrue the revelation, which<br />

would, therefore, be<strong>com</strong>e an evil to you and to them for<br />

having <strong>com</strong>municated it." Thus it is that legions of the<br />

Holy Ones are waiting to attend to your needs if you<br />

yourself were able to <strong>com</strong>ply with the requirements that<br />

makes such attendance possible. Certain laws governing<br />

mind mist be <strong>com</strong>plied with before those high Intelligences<br />

can possibly approach us.<br />

We should bear in mind two facts: first, God, the<br />

formless, eternal One, is the fountain from which we<br />

draw by inspiration all that we need, in <strong>com</strong>pliance with<br />

the injunction to pray always with all prayer; for in this<br />

Fountain reside, ever at our <strong>com</strong>mand, all things that we<br />

can possibly need; second, when we want help from the<br />

Source that is able to help us in time of need, our prayer<br />

to that Source must' arise from a vivid consciousness of<br />

the need: and we should approach reverently, lovingly,<br />

yet confidently.<br />

As to the method of approach, you should centralize your<br />

mind in loving, passive devotion upon the Holy Center.<br />

If you wish to single out the one individual, the Christ,<br />

as the Church does, it is well-it does not matter. Place<br />

your mind upon him, banish every other thought or desire,<br />

do not allow your mind to waver fora moment;<br />

and, if you are free from all selfish desire and otherwise<br />

in the right attitude, you will soon be conscious of a<br />

mental touch with him.<br />
