'ii if? can see God and live." Such are the<br />

'ft 3? statements of the New Testament regard-<br />

%'¥"¥"¥'R ing the Supreme God. Yet there are also<br />

aflirmations in various parts of Holy Writ, which are the<br />

direct contrary of these, as, "The pure in heart shall see<br />

God," and Job says: "I have heard of thee by the hearing<br />

of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee." And<br />

again, "The throne of God and of the lamb shall be in<br />

it: and his servants shall serve him, and they shall look<br />

upon his face." No wonder the materialist, the man of<br />

mortal mind, says that the <strong>Bible</strong> abounds in contradictions,<br />

for so it must appear to him. But the Divine Wisdom<br />

justifies itself, tho it may appear to be foolishness<br />

to human reason. "For what man knoweth the things<br />

of a man save the spirit of the man that is in him; even<br />

so, the things of God none knoweth, save the Spirit of<br />

God.<br />

But God hath revealed them to us by his Spirit."<br />

"Things which eye saw not, nor ear heard, nor had entered<br />

into heart of man," even the deep things of God-<br />

THE DEEPS OF THE DIVINE NATURE,<br />

which are inconceivable to the mortal mind of the animal<br />

man, and can be known only by those who are partakers<br />

of the Divine Nature, who<br />
