Chapter 4: Verifying Installation/ Function Overview

4.5 Regular Inspection of ASXPRESS Components
It is important to verify that all system components are in good working order
and are undamaged prior to operation of the ASXPRESS system. It is unlikely
that the liquid carrying components will be damaged during shipping.
However, as part of standard operation procedure, you should regularly
inspect all components for damage prior to operating the rapid sample
introduction system.
Note:
Visually inspect the Six Port Injection Valve, Three Port Valve, Vacuum
Ports, and all other components, such as cabling, enclosure, tubing,
etc., for any signs of damage. Pay special attention to all tubing to
ensure that no kinks exist, as this condition will impair proper
performance of the ASXPRESS system by reducing flow rates.
If you detect a leak or other damage to any ASXPRESS Rapid Sample
Introduction System component, you must replace it. For more information,
refer to the appropriate section in Chapter 6, “Maintaining the Rapid Sample
Introduction System.”
