Effect of Row Direction and Artificial
Lodging Upon Pigeonpea Yields
A preliminary trial was established to study the
effect of row direction (north-south vs. east-west)
of two cereals and pigeonpea alone and in
intercropping systems.
Pigeonpea yields in the north-south direction
were significantly higher than those in the eastwest
direction on both Alfisols and Vertisols.
