Glossary of terms TERM Baseline Data Biodiversity Cumulative Effect Assessment DCLG Development Plan Development Plan Document (DPD) European Site Habitats Directive DESCRIPTION The data is used as a reference with which to compare future observations or results The richness and variety of living things (i.e. plants and animals), which exist in a given area, and the habitats that support them An assessment carried out to consider the significance of a number of combined insignificant impacts from multiple programmes and strategies across a number of proximities that can eventually result in a significant effect on a receptor Department of Communities and Local Government Consists of the Regional Spatial Strategy and Development Plan Documents contained within the Council’s Local Plan. Until the Local Plan is fully in place it will also include ‘saved’ policies from the Council’s Local Plan 2001 A spatial planning document within the Council’s Local Development Framework which set out policies for development and the use of land.
