area, the LOS was calculated only on the two-lane section. The two-lane section between<br />
Plattsmouth and <strong>Nebraska</strong> City is operating at a LOS B in the year 2000. The two-lane section is<br />
to be upgraded to a four-lane highway in the year 2009 or beyond, as stated in NDOR 2003-2008<br />
Surface Transportation Program.<br />
Blair to Omaha<br />
The primary highways in the corridor between Omaha and Blair are US-75 and N-133. US-75<br />
currently is four-lane highway in Douglas County and a two-lane highway in Washington<br />
County. N-133 currently is a two-lane highway between Omaha and Blair. I-680 and US-6<br />
would provide the link to Downtown Omaha for a new bus service.<br />
The two-lane section <strong>of</strong> US-75 is operating at a LOS C in the year 2000. The four-lane section <strong>of</strong><br />
US-75 is operating at a LOS B. N-133 is operating at LOS D close to Omaha and LOS C at<br />
Blair. An average LOS C was calculated for all the roadway sections between Omaha and Blair<br />
as shown in the table above.<br />
The two-lane section <strong>of</strong> N-133 between Omaha and Blair and the two-lane section <strong>of</strong> US-75<br />
between Douglas County and Fort Calhoun are to be upgraded to a four-lane highway in the<br />
future. NDOR 2003-2008 Surface Transportation Program states that N-133 will upgraded from<br />
I-680 to NE-36 in 2003 and from NE-36 to Blair in the year 2009 or beyond. US-75 from<br />
Douglas County to Fort Calhoun will be upgraded in the year 2009 or beyond. I-680 will be<br />
upgrade between Maple Street (N-64) and N-133. US-6 is being upgraded to a four-lane<br />
expressway.<br />
Blair to Sioux City<br />
The primary highway in the corridor between Blair and Sioux City is US-75. US-75 currently is<br />
two-lane highway between Blair and Sioux City.<br />
US-75 is operating at a LOS C in the year 2000 between Blair and Tekamah, LOS A between<br />
Tekamah and Winnebago, and LOS C between Winnebago and Sioux City.<br />
The two-lane section <strong>of</strong> US-75 between Winnebago and Sioux City is to be upgraded to a fourlane<br />
highway in the year 2009 and beyond as stated in the NDOR 2003-2008 Surface<br />
Transportation Program.<br />
Winslow to Sioux City<br />
An alternative route from Omaha to Sioux City is to go through Fremont and use US-77. US-77<br />
is the primary highway in the corridor between Winslow and Sioux City. US-77 currently is<br />
two-lane highway between Winslow and Sioux City.<br />
US-77 was operating at a LOS B in the year 2000 between Winslow and Sioux City.<br />
US-77 between Winslow and Sioux City is not scheduled to have capacity upgrades based on<br />
NDOR planning documents.<br />
