Noun formation<br />

In Yoruba, some nouns are formed by adding a vowel in front of a<br />

verb. For example:<br />

ßõΩ to sin õΩßõΩ sin<br />

banújõœ to be sorrowful ìbànújõœ sorrow<br />

sìn to worship õΩsìn worship<br />

The vowels used in forming the nouns are in most cases unpredictable.<br />
