Adjectives<br />

There are different kinds of adjectives in Yoruba.<br />

1 There are basic adjectives as in the following examples:<br />

ilé títóbi<br />

a small child<br />

a big house<br />

2 There are other adjectives such as numeric adjectives. For example:<br />

ìwé kan<br />

ilé méjì<br />

one book<br />

two houses<br />

3 There are interrogative adjectives. For example:<br />

Ìwé mélòó ni Kúnlé ní?<br />

How many books does Kunle have?<br />

—Kúnlé ní ìwé kan.<br />

—Kunle has one book.
