<strong>School</strong>-to-Work Programs<br />
Alexander Henry High <strong>School</strong> offers a variety of programs that include character<br />
education to assist students on their pathway to the world of work.<br />
LANGUAGE! is a unique literacy program designed to meet the needs of<br />
adolescent learners who are not working at grade level. The program addresses 18 strands of English<br />
language acquisition through intensive, systematic, repetitive instruction delivered by highly skilled<br />
reading experts. Students are streamed to work at their individual level, and are given the opportunity<br />
to master the essential skills required to be successful readers and writers.<br />
Grade Nine Technology Education Rotation<br />
allows students to experience a hands-on classroom in a variety of trade areas<br />

START (Students At Risk Today) Program – The focus of this program is to address<br />
students’ behavioural and social skills. Through progressive counseling and course work,<br />
students will expand their educational experiences to grow as an individual, as a student<br />
and as a contributing member of society.<br />
