Dance, Grade 11, Open (ATC3O)
This course will give students opportunies to express increasingly complex ideas through movement and to experiment with
choreography. Students will develop technical skills; study the historical aspects of various dance forms and the funcon of dance
in specific cultures; evaluate dance works; and invesgate ways in which the study of dance can prepare them for various careers.
Prerequisite: Dance, Grade 9 or 10, Open White Pines only
Dramac Arts, Grade 11 Open (ADA3O)
This course requires students to create and to present dramac works. Students will do research on and study such types of
contemporary theatre as docudrama and forum theatre. They will interpret and present works in a variety of dramac forms; create
and script original works; analyse and reflect on dramac works; and develop their communicaon skills and other skills useful in a
variety of careers. Prerequisite: Dramac Arts, Grade 9 or 10, Open CASS, WC Eaket, SJD, Michipicoten, White Pines, and Elliot Lake

Dramac Arts, Grade 11, University/College Preparaon (ADA3M)
This course requires students to create and to perform dramac presentaons. Students will analyse, interpret, and perform works of
drama from various cultures, including Western plays from around 1900. Students will also do research on different acng styles and
convenons for their presentaons, create original works, and analyse the funcons of playwright, director, actor, producer, designer,
technician, and audience. Prerequisite: Dramac Arts, Grade 9 or 10, Open Bawang only
Instrumental Music – Band, Grade 11 Open (AMI3O)
This course emphasizes individual performance as well as in ensemble playing. Musical styles such as jazz, classical and
contemporary, will be explored in greater detail. Students will connue to further their knowledge of musical concepts and increase
their music reading skills. Listening skills will be further developed and the composional component will include using electronic
instruments to write musical accompaniment. Prerequisite: AMI2O or permission of instructor. Elliot Lake only

Electronic Music, Grade 11 University/College Preparaon (AMD3M)
This course is designed for students interested in making music recordings where they and their classmates play the instruments.
Ulizing a state-of-the-art recording facility students learn the techniques of properly recording acousc guitar, electric guitar, bass,
drums and other instruments. Students then use this knowledge to create their own recordings of original and cover songs in a series
of projects. Recommended pre-requisite: AMG4M. Korah only
Guitar, Grade 11 Open (AMG3O)
This course is designed for students to connue, improve, and expand their knowledge of the guitar, technical paerns, and
an understanding of chord vocabulary. The students of this course will be allowed to explore areas designed for their personal
understanding. Prerequisite: Guitar, Grade 10, Open Bawang, SJD, and White Pines only
Guitar, Grade 11 University/College Preparaon (AMG3M)

Piano Keyboard, Grade 11 Open (AMK3O)
This course is for students that have completed AMK2O or students that are at a Grade 4 piano level. Students focus on performance,
music reading, wring and listening skills. This course offers a recording studio set-up with an orchestra of 128 sounds plus 32 rhythm
sounds. Prerequisite: None Bawang only
