Descrlp_ion.--Leaves o{ relative large size for this genus,<br />

laneeolaite in outline, IO cm_.to 13 cm. in length, by 3 cm in<br />

greatest breadth. Apex and base acute. Margin with remote<br />

spiny teeth. Midrib, stout. Secondaries thin, apparently craspedodrome,<br />

branching from <strong>the</strong> m_drib at an acute angle in <strong>the</strong><br />

middle <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> leaf, bat at a much wider angle toward <strong>the</strong> apex.<br />

This species is based upon <strong>the</strong> two incomplete specimens figured<br />

by Pr<strong>of</strong>, <strong>New</strong>berry (Ioe. cit.), which are <strong>the</strong> only specimens that<br />

have ever been collected. Consequelatly, <strong>the</strong> diagnosis is somewhat<br />

incomplete, <strong>the</strong> generic relationship is uncertain and <strong>the</strong><br />

reference to Ile_r can only be provisional.<br />

Description.--Leaves small, broadly lance,>late in outline,<br />

about 4 era. in. length, by 2 era. in breadth. Apex obtuse. Base<br />

narrowed and apparently acute. Margin beset with small and<br />

large subaeute teeth. Midrib mediumly stout and curved. Only<br />

a {eve secondaries are v!_ible, <strong>the</strong>se branch from <strong>the</strong> midrib at<br />
