As determined by <strong>the</strong> stratigraphy, <strong>the</strong>se are approximately <strong>of</strong><br />
middle Raritau age. Paleo,ntologically <strong>the</strong>y are closely allied<br />
with <strong>the</strong> more meager florules previously enumerated, <strong>the</strong> weight<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> paleobotanieal evidence showing that <strong>the</strong> <strong>Raritan</strong> <strong>flora</strong><br />
falls naturally into two divisions, an older and a younger. <strong>The</strong>re<br />
are 76 species which do not occur in <strong>the</strong> Upper <strong>Raritan</strong>, <strong>of</strong> which<br />
IO occur in <strong>the</strong> Lower Cretaceous.<br />
