Among <strong>the</strong>se <strong>the</strong> Gleichenia is <strong>the</strong> only striking old form,<br />
and a number like Salix Lesquereua'i range considerably higher<br />
than <strong>the</strong> <strong>Raritan</strong>.<br />
Only Juniperns macilenta Heer, described originally from<br />
<strong>the</strong> A_tane beds <strong>of</strong> Greenland, is recorded from Perth Air,boy,<br />
. By far <strong>the</strong> largest number <strong>of</strong> species from a single locality is<br />
that recorded from Woodbridge, where <strong>the</strong> Woodbridge clays<br />
have furnished <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> an important industry for so many<br />
years. This locality has yielded 94 species, most <strong>of</strong> which were<br />
collected from Pr<strong>of</strong>. <strong>New</strong>berry or his assistants from <strong>the</strong> Cutter<br />
pits :<br />
