The younger or Upper Raritan flora is known from two locali,
ties, the one at the Allen Pits at South Ainboy, which has furnlshed
the bulk of the species ; the other at the Hylton Pits along
Pensauken Creek (near Palmyra), where the top of the Raritan
is slightly exposed and unconformably overlain by the arenaceous
strata of the Magothy _ormation, which makes up the bulk
of the exposure. The following species are recorded from these
two localities :
