TheComm<strong>and</strong>er stated that MNSTC-I was collaborating with the MoD Military Worksengineers <strong>and</strong> the Ministry <strong>of</strong> Electricity to determine the scope <strong>of</strong> requirements for eachbase. This collaborative effort was expected to form the basis for a contract withBaghdad University through the Army Corps <strong>of</strong> Engineers Gulf Region Division toassess the power requirements for the major MoD facilities <strong>and</strong> their impact on thenational electric power grid <strong>and</strong> to identify actions necessary to deliver adequate power toIraqi Army bases. The Comm<strong>and</strong>er reported that primary electrical power at eachLocation Comm<strong>and</strong> would be provided by generators or connection into the Iraqi nationalpower grid, where available. Back-up power would be provided by generators. In eithercase, functioning generators depended on the allocation <strong>and</strong> availability <strong>of</strong> fuel <strong>and</strong>effective maintenance.Our ResponseComm<strong>and</strong>er, MNSTC-I comments were responsive, <strong>and</strong> no additional comments arerequired.95
