MNSTC-I was researching procurement options for the NATO codificationsystem <strong>and</strong> protocols to enable the NATO system to interface with the Iraqi ArmyMaintenance Program (IAMP). MNSTC-I reported that the Mol had agreed to the NATOCodification system <strong>and</strong> were currently establishing an applicable automated system.Our ResponseComm<strong>and</strong>er, MNSTC-I comments were responsive, <strong>and</strong> no additional comments arerequired.18.c. He reported that the JHQ Transportation <strong>and</strong>Provisioning (T&P) Directorate was interested in reducing the number <strong>of</strong> supportedvehicles as part <strong>of</strong> a wider lifecycle management program <strong>and</strong> had issued guidancespecifying which vehicles would be sustained with a spare parts inventory (priorityvehicles) <strong>and</strong> those non-priority vehicles that would be naturally attrited. TheComm<strong>and</strong>er stated that the MoI was particularly challenged by the multiple models <strong>of</strong>vehicles in the fleet, making even basic maintenance a challenge. The MoI was workingto establish equipment support on its myriad types <strong>of</strong> vehicles. He said that MNSTC-Iwould encourage MoI direct purchase contracts on already supported vehicles <strong>and</strong> advisethe MoI on readiness reporting processes to monitor their vehicles for better overalloperations.120
