Iraq (MNC-I) on May 15, 2004, to replace Combined Joint Task Force 7 <strong>and</strong> assumeresponsibility for conducting military operations in Iraq.Multi-National Force-IraqMNF-I is headquartered at Camp Victory, Baghdad, Iraq, with the mission to create asecure environment in Iraq. MNF-I concurrently conducts stability operations to supportthe Government <strong>of</strong> Iraq, which will help restore essential services <strong>and</strong> develop theeconomy.Multi-National Corps-IraqMNC-I is a subordinate comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> MNF-I <strong>and</strong> is headquartered at Camp Victory,Baghdad, Iraq. MNC-I is the tactical unit responsible for comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> control <strong>of</strong>combat operations by Coalition forces throughout Iraq <strong>and</strong> its primary mission is toconduct counterinsurgency, stability, <strong>and</strong> support operations.Multi-National <strong>Security</strong> Transition Comm<strong>and</strong>-IraqThe Multi-National <strong>Security</strong> Transition Comm<strong>and</strong>-Iraq (MNSTC-I) is headquartered inthe International Zone, Baghdad, Iraq, <strong>and</strong> is a subordinate comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> MNF-I.MNSTC-I manages the use <strong>of</strong> Iraq <strong>Security</strong> Forces Fund funds in Iraq.The primary mission <strong>of</strong> MNSTC-I is to assist the Government <strong>of</strong> Iraq in developing,organizing, training, equipping, <strong>and</strong> sustaining ISF. This mission was previouslyperformed by three components <strong>of</strong> MNSTC-I. The Coalition Military <strong>Assistance</strong>Training Team organized, trained, equipped, <strong>and</strong> mentored the Iraq Armed Forces. TheCivilian Police <strong>Assistance</strong> Training Team organized, trained, equipped, <strong>and</strong> mentored theIraq Civilian Police Forces <strong>and</strong> other components <strong>of</strong> MoI. The Joint HeadquartersAdvisory Support Team assisted the Joint Headquarters <strong>of</strong> the Iraq Armed Forces indeveloping a comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> control system.As <strong>of</strong> January 6, 2008, MNSTC-I reorganized itself into the following components. TheMNSTC-I headquarters includes the Primary <strong>and</strong> Special Staff <strong>and</strong> the North AtlanticTreaty Organization Training Mission. MNSTC-I provides assistance <strong>and</strong> mentoringusing training <strong>and</strong> transition teams.• Civilian Police <strong>Assistance</strong> Training Team• Coalition Air Force Transition Team• Coalition Army Advisory Training Team• Functional Capability Teams• Intelligence Transition Team• Iraqi National Counter-Terrorism Task Force Transition Team• Joint Headquarters Transition Team• Maritime Strategic Transition Team• Ministry <strong>of</strong> Defense Transition Team• Ministry <strong>of</strong> Interior Transition Team192
