The CO approvesthe statute of TRM and the task schedule, supervisesthe management and appoints the president of TRM as wellas the directors for radio and TV.Problems: The 9 members of the CO are selected by parliamentout of 18 candidates proposed by the BroadcastingCouncil. Thus, party politics have a large influence on the CO.–Engagement of civil societyThe members of the Council of Observers are meant to bepart of civil society, however, due to the nomination processthere is always the danger that political affiliations of themembers of the CO will play a role in their election.
