He held several positions at Deutsche Gesellschaft für InternationaleZusammenarbeit (GIZ) abroad, lastly as coordinator for innovative approachesand methods in violence prevention for the German Peace Building Program CER-CAPAZ-GIZ in Colombia (2009–2012). In addition, he has worked as organizationaladvisor, facilitator, and evaluator with Civil Peace Service Programmes (ZFD), FriedrichEbert Stiftung, UNDP and World Bank. He has a BA in Latin American Studies atUNAM in Mexico and an MA degree in Human Rights with supporting qualificationsin project design, management and evaluation. His PhD project at CEDLA Amsterdamdetailed conflicts between indigenous peoples and states over the use of naturalresources in Bolivia and Ecuador. Since 2014 he is permanent advisor for DeutscheWelle Akademie’s Department Strategy and Consulting. In the past two years she has led the redirection processof DW Akademie towards long-term projects, organizational capacity building, andnew evaluation frameworks. Before this she was in charge of the Latin American teamand ran numerous innovative media development projects in this region. Her master’sdegree is in geography and history from the University of Cologne, and she hascompleted several advanced trainings in organizational management and organizationaldevelopment, among them the certified course Systemic Organizational Developmentat Fritz-Simon-Berlin.
