Main Avenue would be designed toinclude 11-foot travel lanes with one-foot shoulders. The design will incorporate bicycle and pedestrianaccommodation into roadway projects where practicable. There are no new signals proposed along RealignedMain Avenue (the intersection of Realigned Main Avenue and Groveland Avenue would remain signalized)and the current functional classification would remain the same. While the design speed of Realigned MainAvenue would be reduced by five miles per hour to 40 miles per hour, the posted speed limit would remain at35 miles per hour. The realignment of Main Avenue would not impact its designation as a hurricane evacuationroute by the State of Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency.Chapter 5 - Environmental Consequences 5-133 July 2011\\mawatr\ev\09228.00\reports\FEIS_Final_July_2011\PVD_CH05_Environmental_Cons_JUL_2011.doc
